This is an aside about Louisiana and (right-wing) antisemitism.

Louisiana doesn't have primaries like the rest of the nation. On the day of the November general election, they hold "jungle primaries" -- all declared candidates are on the ballot, and if no one wins a majority, the top two go to a run-off in December. On November 8, 2016, while country was deciding between Trump and Hilary Clinton, Louisiana also held a jungle primary for a U.S. Senate seat. More than 1.9 million voters cast votes. A total of 24 candidates received votes, including nine Republicans and seven Democrats. 

David Duke -- yes, *that* David Duke -- received 58,606 votes. 

With 23 other candidates on the ballot, just over 3% of voters selected a famously antisemitic candidate. 

There are only about 20,000 Jews in all of Louisiana. They are outnumbered by David Duke voters three-to-one.
